The flag of sierra leone was inaugurated on April 27, 1961. The ratio of length to width of the flag is 3:2. The national flag is composed of three parallel rectangles, which are green, white and blue from top to bottom. Green symbolizes agriculture and also represents the country's natural resources and mountains; White symbolizes national unity and people's pursuit of justice; Blue symbolizes the ocean and hope that sierra leone's natural harbor will contribute to world peace.

1.Main Flag Material:

There are many flag materials that can be used to make national country flags with, here at NoveltyFlag we use 5 main materials and they are:

l75D Polyester for the most economy fabric and promotion use.

l100D Polyester for the budget in mind and promo uses.

l120gsm(200D) Trilobal/Knitted Polyester for durability – longer life.
l210D Nylon, 100% nylon, very durable fabric, we have to print by machine line. There is MOQ limited.

l160gsm(500D) Woven bunting Polyester for extra durability – longer life,(it's the most durable flag material you can get)

2.Should you have (single sided) or (double sided 3 layers)?

Single sided flag sample:

The wording on a single sided flag will read in reverse on the back side. This flag take little wind to move it and is the most common way for custom flags.

Double Sided 3 layer flag sample:

 
As you can see the wording on a 3 layer flag will read correct on the back side. This flag will take a lot wind to move it as it is very heavy, the flag is made from 2 pieces of flag material are sewn together and a middle block(A liner) out is add to stop the see through.

National Country Flag Printing Techniques

We use always use 3 types of printing techniques for printing flags they are Screen Print, Heat Transferring and Digital Sublimation Print, Screen printing by machine or hand and Digital print by digital imaging printing machine.

1. National Country flags with Screen printing:

Screen printing flags will give a bright and vibrant colors but will not print complex designs.

• Best for larger quantities most cost effective.

• Sharp Finish

• Vibrant colors

• Printed to PMS (Pantone) colors

• Have to make film and printing plates

• No minimum quantity on custom flags.

2.  National Country flags with Digital Printing:

Digital printing uses inkjet technology to create sharp and striking results every time, without minimum color.

• Excellent for complex designs and high-quality photos

• Ideal for small quantities ( eg. 1 or 2 flags) and quick turn around time.

• Full color printing process (Lot's of Color)

• No film and printing plates needed

• No minimum quantity on custom flags.

3. National Country flags with Heat Transferring:

Heat Transfer Printing is a special printing technology which prints portrait or landscape or any other images on the sublimation printing paper with the sublimation ink, then heated up to certain temperature. The image on the paper will be transferred to textile fabric material with vivid color.

• Excellent for complex designs and high-quality photos

• Ideal for small quantities (eg. 1 or 2 flags) and quick turn around time.

• Full color printing process (Lot's of Color)

• No film and printing plates needed

• No minimum quantity on custom flags.

4.What should I choose?

In short – if you need 1 or 2 flags digital print is your option if you require a larger amount of flags screen print is your option unless you have a complex design then digital print might be the only way, it's better to send over your artwork and let us then tell you which is the best way.

5.What fixtures should you choose?

The most common fixtures for flags are rope and clips. There are other fixtures you can have they are:

• Rope loops

• Plastic Clips

• Rope and wood toggle

• Brass eyelets

6.Artwork details of National Country flags:

• We almost have the regular national country flags designs already. But it is better to receive confirmation from client before production.
